Corporate History
The founding President of CARLOS PAWNSHOP, INC., Milagros Osero Carlos, first thought of venturing into Pawnshop business while assisting in the Drugstore owned by her husband’s family. While doing so, she took notice of customers who would offer their jewelry or anything of value in exchange for medicines they needed in time of emergency. This was the human drama she helplessly watched everyday. It was at this point in time that she thought of the potential of setting up a pawnshop that would help those in need of medicines right at the place where it was needed.
Thus, in July of 1985, in a small space at the Packing Department of Carlos SuperDrug, the first Quickloan Pawnshop came to life. She invited her sister-in-law, Pilar R. Carlos to join her in her new venture. True to the reason for its existence, uncompromised service at trying times was its mission. Its vision was to be in many towns and cities to reach out to people in emergency situations. The reality was, no bank would give loans for medicines and other exigencies but QUICKLOAN was a place they could go to with no questions asked. QUICKLOAN has expanded to different locations in Quezon and Laguna provinces. It has also opened jewelry stores at Quickloan Branches and Malls in Lucena and Manila. Today, QUICKLOAN is a household name that is known for “doing business with a heart”. It will continually remain committed to its mission of service.
